Resection of long-range sensor models for mono and stereo exploitation of Non-Earth Imagery

Thursday, September 19th, 4:55pm
Presented by Reuben Settergren, Senior R&D Engineer

For the emerging field of Non-Earth Imaging (NEI), traditional photogrammetric standards and workflows for terrestrial imagery remain ineffective due to a lack of industry standards and metadata. Addressing this challenge, SOCET GXP® software supports the NEI market with an innovative new workflow that creates a mensurable sensor model based simply on observable perpendicular features of the object of interest. Referred to as Non-Earth Registration, this exciting new capability supports both mono and stereo exploitation, and will be presented at AMOS 2024 in Maui, Sept 17-20.

Official Event Description

The Advanced Maui Optical and Space Surveillance Technologies (AMOS) Conference is the premier technical conference in the nation devoted to space situational awareness/space domain awareness. The cross section of private sector, government, and academic participation helps foster important dialogue and international collaboration. The continued growth in attendance and participating countries at AMOS reflects a growing interest in space sustainability and space commerce initiatives as new actors—national governments, private sector companies, non-governmental entities, and universities—become involved in these activities.
